OUR GREEN SPACE

Ecologically sound, affordable, sustainable

ABOUT

Backyard Edens is a cooperative greenspace concept that brings affordability along with ecologically sound practises so that families and communities can enjoy a safe green space.

Our aim is to transform the outside areas into green paradises through volunteers and sponsorship. This means nobody loses out even on the tightest of budgets.

The concept is nothing new, communities get together and help each other. Each client helps to enlist community members to assist with labour and sourcing plants and materials which are surplus to requirements.

This all comes together with a plan of the space and an allocated project manager.  There is a one off charge for the project which covers our expenses.

We also seek funding for those really special circumstances where clients would otherwise be excluded due to little or no disposable income or are disadvantaged.

INITIAL CONSULTATION

Please use the contact form to tell us as much about your circumstances and your green space. We will try to reply with 5 working days. If we feel you meet the criteria we would normally arrange a telephone call where we can complete the request and check eligibility.
We would then arrange a site visit where we can complete a site survey and confirm we are able to meet the clients needs.

DESIGN AND BUILD

Once the contract has ben signed, a draft design will be shared with the client. At this stage minor changes can be made. On agreement of the final design, we will work with our client to recruit volunteers and advertise for materials and resources.

Vegetable Picking

Phil Johnson

The first thing I ever grew was a carrot top at school. The teacher gave us all a carrot top and some cotton wool. We soaked the cotton wool in water and placed on a waterproof surface. We then put the carrot top on the cotton wool and kept in in a light place and kept the cotton wool moist.

I knew it wouldn't grow into another carrot but I was fascinated that the foliage came back.
